Studio Joyce is the creative studio of British artist, illustrator and designer James Joyce. Alongside his artistic practice, the studio works across illustration, design, publishing and brand collaborations, creating distinctive visual work for editorial, cultural and commercial clients, as well as developing original artworks, limited editions and self-initiated projects.

James is known for reducing ideas to their most essential visual form. His work combines bold graphic imagery with conceptual thinking, often drawing on familiar symbols and everyday objects to create images that are immediate, memorable and open to interpretation. Whether creating an editorial illustration, a visual identity or an original artwork, the same principles of clarity, wit and reduction underpin the practice.

James's work has been recognised by D&AD, Design Week, the Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE) and the Creative Review Annual, and his artistic work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Colette Paris and Banksy's Dismaland.

Born in Wolverhampton, James studied at Walsall College of Art and went on to study at Kingston University. He now lives and works in Somerset.
